DOP Plasticizer
DOP Plasticizer (Dioctyl Phthalate) is a combustible non-toxic colorless oily liquid with slight odor.
APPLICATIONS
DOP is a Plasticizer for:
- Cables and wires.
- Building and construction for cladding and roof membranes.
- PVC pipes and flooring.
- Others such as hoses, shoe soles sealings industrial doors, swimming pool covers, shower curtains, roofing materials, water beds, furniture and disposable gloves.
Description
DOP Plasticizer (Bis(2-Ethylhexyl) Phthalate) is a light colored, low volatility, odorless liquid. It is the most widely used all-purpose plasticizer in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resins. It is insoluble in water and has a viscosity of 56 cP at 25°C.
DOP features good stability to heat and ultraviolet light, a broad range of compatibility, and excellent resistance to hydrolysis.
Its broad range of characteristics such as high plasticizing efficiency, low volatility, UV-resistance, water-extracting proof, cold-resisting property, softness and electric property makes it suitable for making a wide range of products.
Dioctyl phthalate is used in the production of synthetic rubber, as a softening agent to make the synthetic rubber easier to rebound and harder to undergo form change under pressure.
DOP is widely used in PVC and ethyl cellulose resins to make plastic film, imitation leather, electric wire, etc.
